Safe Environment Training

The Diocese has a new training program for all employees and volunteers who work with children.  Everyone who works with children is required to complete a child abuse prevention training once every three years.  This current program, Shield the Vulnerable, is mandatory for those who have not been trained through their parish or who completed training prior to 2006.  This new program takes about one hour to complete, and it can be accessed through any computer and completed in stages. 

 All volunteers are required to complete this course prior to volunteering.  Please see the attached flyer for information on how to take the online course.  When you have completed the course please send Jane an email copy at jdolcini@hs-ps.com  (or hard copy) of your Certificate of Completion.  Summer is a good time to complete this task.

How to take the online course

1. Go to: www.shieldthevulnerable.org
2. Click “1^st time Diocese signup” tab
3. Click “Adult Course” radio round button
4. Select our Diocese
5. Complete the registration
6. Click “Start” button on my course page
7. Acknowledge Diocesan Policies and print your Certificate of Completion
